I’m glad you’re here.

Fashion Stack is a monthly newsletter on fashion and the technology reshaping it, written by me, Lauren Johnson. French, Beninese roots, based in Berlin, day job in the industry. New issue on the first Sunday of every month.

The short version of how I got here:

Finance first, in New York, analysing companies for a living. Then tech, in London. Then two ventures of my own: Meyi, a predictive analytics tool for fashion brands, and Vintage & Vino, a vintage-and-natural-wine pop-up that brought 400 strangers together in London. Somewhere along the way, an internship at Saint Laurent Paris, Avenue Montaigne.

New York, Paris, London, Berlin. Each city rewired how I see fashion a little.

I’m a Black French woman in fashion tech, and that combination shapes what I notice, and what I think the industry keeps missing.

What you’ll find here:

• Deep dives on where fashion is heading. Lately, why luxury houses want into your living room.
• Startups I’d bet on, looked at the way I used to look at companies in finance.
• Interviews with people building the industry from the inside.
• African Fashion , because the industry is still late on this one.

I care about craft and tradition, about the money and tech moving fashion forward, and about the voices that rarely get the loudest seat in the room.

Fashion Stack is a personal project. It’s where I chase whatever I’m curious about and learn it in public. Some takes will hold up. Some will age badly. All of them will be honest.
